This Asia Pro Eco project supports the capacity building of biological monitoring (Biomonitoring) in Wuhan and is implemented by The Department of Public Health and Microbiology of the University of Turin, the Yangtze (Changjiang) Valley Water Resources Protection Bureau (YVWRPB), and the Sustainable Development Association (SDA) with funding from the European Commission. This project aims to enhance and strengthen the capacity of the YVWRPB in the monitoring and regulation of the water quality of the Wuhan Municipal Area. The Department of Public Health and Microbiology of the University of Turin will assist in the development of an innovative Biomonitoring program for the Wuhan water system. The Biomonitoring approach is complementary to existing chemical and physical monitoring techniques and is an innovative and cost effective tool in the implementation and networking of effective wastewater management strategies. » read more... |
